1. Always Book with Your Flight Number, Not Just the Time
The single most important thing you can do when booking a Changi Airport transfer is give your chauffeur service your actual flight number — not just your estimated arrival time. Flights are delayed, diverted, and occasionally arrive early. A professional chauffeur service tracks your flight in real time and adjusts your driver's arrival accordingly.
If you book with just an arrival time ("I land at 2pm"), your driver has no way to track whether your flight is on schedule. If you give your flight number ("SQ321"), we know exactly where your plane is from the moment it pushes back — and your driver arrives when you actually land, not when you were supposed to.
2. Know Your Changi Terminal Before You Book
Changi has four terminals — T1, T2, T3 and T4 — and they are not all connected. Telling your driver "Changi Airport" without a terminal sends them to a guess. T4 in particular is in a separate pickup zone and requires a shuttle bus to reach from the other terminals.

3. Fixed Price Beats Metered Every Time for Airport Transfers
A metered taxi or ride-hailing app with surge pricing is unpredictable by definition. Peak-hour surcharges, late-night multipliers, and demand spikes during major events can double the cost of the same journey on a different day. For airport transfers — where you already have enough uncertainty from flights — adding pricing uncertainty serves no one.
A fixed-price transfer from Singapore Airport Pickup means your fare is agreed and confirmed before your driver departs. SGD 50 for a Sedan, SGD 85 for an Alphard. That fare does not change if your flight lands at midnight, if there's a public holiday surcharge, or if the demand algorithm decides it's a good day to charge more.
4. Departure Transfers Need More Buffer Time Than You Think
Most travellers plan their airport arrival time correctly but underestimate how long it takes to actually get there. Changi Airport recommends arriving 2.5–3 hours before an international flight. Factor in: the time to pack and leave your accommodation, traffic (particularly on Friday evenings and public holiday eves), check-in, immigration, and the walk to your gate in a large terminal.
For a departure transfer, book your pickup for at least 3 hours before your flight. If you're travelling from the east of Singapore (Pasir Ris, Tampines), 2.5 hours may be sufficient. From the west (Jurong, Tuas), allow 3.5 hours minimum during peak traffic periods.
5. Confirm Your Meeting Point When You Book
At Changi Airport, your driver does not wait at the exit doors — they wait in the designated Arrival Meeting Area inside the arrivals hall, typically a few metres past the customs exit. A good chauffeur service sends you the driver's name, vehicle plate number, and the exact meeting point as part of your booking confirmation.
If you don't receive this information when you confirm your booking, ask for it. Knowing exactly who to look for — and where — means you're not wandering the arrivals hall on tired legs after a long-haul flight.
